Orthodontics
Orthodontics is this part of dentistry that deals with the deviations of individual teeth, dental arcs and jaws. The right arrangement contributes to a better function as well as to a more aesthetically pleasing smile look. Orthodontic treatment can also serve to prevent future dental problems (such as cavities and gum inflammation).
The treatment is carried out in the following order:
- initial consultation
- diagnostics
- active orthodontic treatment and retention stage (retention of the result achieved)
The diagnostics includes: taking impressions (for the purpose of casting plaster models), photos and radiographs. Based on these diagnostic methods, an analysis is made and a precise treatment plan is prepared.
The devices we use for the treatment can be removable and fixed.
The removable ones (or splints) are mainly used at child’s age. They are made of plastic and have wire elements that serve to hold the appliances and move the teeth in the correct position.
The treatment with fixed devices uses dental braces. Ceramic braces are used when there is a greater need for discretion. With good aesthetics, small size and proven strength, they provide high comfort for the patients.
The treatment with metal braces, on the other hand, provides very precise and faster movements of teeth to achieve an ideal result.
